What began as a simple request — “design a pergola for gatherings” — evolved into the complete transformation of an 8,000 sq. ft. farmhouse on the outskirts of the Blue City.

The clients wanted a space that blended two contrasts: the dry charm of Andalusia with the tropical feel of Bali. Our intent was never to create a static, dead ornamental garden, but a living, breathing ecosystem— one that thrives with minimal intervention, nourishes the soil, and invites different
species like birds, bees, butterflies, and even the occasional wandering monkey.
We bid adieu to the conventional choices like frangipanis, oleanders, and olives, and opted to introduce indigenous species such as Khejri, Neem, Mulberry, Pilkhan, and Moringa to create a rich canopy, layered with Powderpuffs, Rohidas, and native jasmines for fragrance and seasonal bloom. Results? What was once barren land, overrun with Prosopis juliflora, was revived into a sanctuary — rooted in native beauty yet inspired by global ideas.
The architectural elements were envisioned to complement the natural story. Kota stone was laid in organic patterns, leftover gravel reused, and lime-plastered walls finished with moldings and latticework for an Andalusian touch. Water features were introduced to soften the terrain, while plantations were arranged with intent — creating privacy, rhythm, and balance. An open-to-sky bonfire space was carved out as the beginning of the farm, anchoring social gatherings with raw elegance.
The result is a landscape that feels natural yet refined — not ornamental, but a timeless sanctuary where land, life, and people thrive together.
